About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm looking to contribute positively to the world by loving, learning, laughing, dancing, sharing and growing to make the little things a part of greater ones.

ABOUT ME

I have a love for learning, life, laughing, cultures and music. I develop the latter through travelling, talking, thinking and teachers. I'm always working, even when I'm studying (and always studying even when I'm working) and I always keep myself busy. I like being physically active and being around people. However, I also enjoy my own company.

I was once a vegetarian for a while (6 years and I plan to go back) and I loved it. I'm now going through a little inner conflict between experiencing everything the world has to offer and solidly abiding my ever-changing values. This doesn’t just apply to vegetarianism, though.

I'm quite clean and tidy (bathroom and kitchen especially), I like to cook, read, meet people, lay in the sun or rain and enjoy the simple things in life-- and some complicated ones once in a while!

I have a relatively informed love for Latin America and everything surrounding the cultures, from the good to the bad. I have a particular interest in Colombia and Brazil, but my thirst for learning is further dispersing my passions to various other countries.

Lastly, I consider myself relatively open minded, meaning: nothing surprises or shocks me much but rather everything interests. I'm quite a curious person. Also, I have a tendency to ask lots of questions (not necessarily personal ones though), it's all part of my love for learning thing! ...one last thing: I really like red wine and gummy bears.

PHILOSOPHY

Do to others as you would have them do unto you, however don't get taken advantage of and make your own luck when and while you can!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, seeing as I'm moving around a lot and I'm currently in new places that I don't know. However, I'd like to be more active by offering time, a conversation, a drink or two, maybe some networking, and advice on where to stay/what to do in any place that I'm in or have been in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent a month in Brazil couchsurfing for the first time! It was absolutely fantastic! I met some of the most amazing people who made my trip and my summer just wonderful! They've been great examples of what a couchsurfing host should be like. I have previously tried to couchsurf in Europe, but it was much more difficult. Either way, the couchsurfing community is life changing in the best way!

Interests

Languages (Spanish, French, English, Portuguese, Italian), travelling, fruit, farming (but not much experience), nature, music, dancing, latin culture, cooking, politics, documentaries, wine, telenovalas (my guilty pleasure), notions of the non-tangiable (beauty, intelligence, spirituality, etc), laughing, joking (but I laugh more than I joke...I'm a good public), reading and understanding.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Latin music, jazz, some pop, international music, try me...

Books: A Fine Balance, Oryx and Crake, le Petit Prince, La Virgen de los Sicarios, Banana Wars.

Movies: many...but the few that come to mind are Baraka, The Corporation, My Name is Khan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing thing done: I've loved, lost, and now continiously love. ...and I've trusted in life in some tricky situations.

Amazing thing seen: a tree regenerate and blossom more beautifully after being dismembered by a machine. I thought that was amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach/share? Any language (French, English, Spanish), some basic cooking tips, perhaps an outlook on life slightly different to yours that can only be exchanged through the sharing of time and space (even just a brief moment or two), positive energy, a meal/coffee/drink. I can share an ear for listening, a shoulder for crying and exchange a laugh for a joke.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Wine/coffee/tea/juice, a meal, stories, groceries, flowers, cake, a nice moment, sincerity...

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, France, Germany, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Colombia, France
