About Me

CURRENT MISSION

really sink my teeth into Japan.

ABOUT ME

I moved to Japan in August (2012) as part of the JET program. I teach English to all the kids in my town and I love it.

My father is a Marine(retired) so I moved a few times as a kid but lived in Georgia from 2001 until 2012. I am half Mexican-American but didn't grow up with Spanish. I just studied really hard.

I am at my core just a huge nerd. I love fantasy and used to be a pretty big fan of anime. I've never been great at science but I think it's fascinating. I'm also a little bit of history buff (mostly American). Don't worry, though, I have all the necessary social graces.

PHILOSOPHY

You only get one shot at this life, but no one makes it out alive. You have to make the most of your life but remember that your life is not the world.

Interests

Language, literature, and food are my main interests.

  • literature
  • dining
  • cooking
  • anime
  • history
  • science

Music, Movies, and Books

Harry Potter, A Tale of Two Cities, Picture of Dorian Gray, The Fifth Element, The Strokes, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Listened to the Dalai Llama speak in Centennial Park in Atlanta.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a pretty good cook and I have a decent set up. I would be more than happy to teach someone a dish or two.
