By education I am a visual artist - a painter. But for a few reasons I have changed my occupation and currently am teaching English, mostly for engineers. In winter I had an exhibition of my paintings and who knows what happens next...

Mostly I host people, but in future I might need a helping hand too...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a few people - it was 100% positive. It is also amazing to hear stories about friendships made through CS. I also had a negative experience with my would-be host, who had promised to host me and my friend, and one day before my arrival in Stockholm disappeared in thin air. It cost us an arm and a leg to sleep in a hotel. Still, those positive encounters and memories are a million times more important.

Interests

For years I practised zen with Yakusho Kwong Roshi. Now it looks like I have a little break...
I also like kayaking,yachting swimming, gardening and reading about the Universe, technology, ... and again - learning Spanish - in fits and starts...

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite films: Waltz with Bashir, Tous Les Matins du Monde, Passion in The Desert, Borat. And Ingmar Bergman, almost everything.
Music: well, I have had different phases, from French baroque to Bach to Eric Satie, to Eminem, to Amy Winehouse...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many times I am awestruck watching sportspeople - how they are concentrated on the moment, how they can keep their cool, stand up and fight... And I would be surely lying on the ground crying my heart out.

I felt embarassed at someone's CS page, when I read sth like this: "Don't think you can be accepted if you have an empty account and write a short letter. You have to prove to us, that you really want tomeet us us, and aren't just looking for a free bed.

Well -- you don't need to prove to me that you think I am special and unique...
But I want to make one thing clear,n: I put up people, who travel to see the world, and not those, who want a family holiday with children for 5 days at the seaside. And if you want to go clubbing all night, you'd better find somewhere else - I don't much enjoy noisy peole and party lifestyle.
