ABOUT ME

I just moved to Burleson, so I'm still trying to learn my way around here, too. Not quite ready to host yet, but happy to meet up.

I am very dedicated to supporting local small businesses (this means I usually know some killer hole-in-the-wall places!).

And I bake. Everything.

PHILOSOPHY

That, and never take a good beer for granted.

Intereses

Hiking, climbing, gardening, reading, writing... Being outdoors in general!

I love experimenting with new foods (both cooking and eating), primarily on the vegetarian end of the spectrum.

I do a lot of reading and will happily chat about most fiction.

As for music, I love me some raw, gravelly tunes... Firewater, Tom Waits, etc.

Singing a traditional Hawaiian chant with my friends to greet the rising sun as we hiked up the deep rust-red hardpan of Kaho'olawe.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

If there are appropriate materials available, I'd be happy to teach lei-making and bread baking, though I'm hardly an expert. ^_^" I am, however, a pretty accomplished campfire cook due to 2 years of living in the rural Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer.

I'd love to learn to:
-Whittle (carve wood)
-Make rope and weave baskets
-Cook new kinds of vegetarian food!
