About Me

******Please note, I do not accept friend requests from people that I have not met in person, face-to-face. Any friends, I have added, are people that I met and, are someone I would trust to host.****

I am an adventurous person, who has a passion for authenticity and creating real connections with others and with nature and with God.

I have a personal relationship with Yehoushau/Yeshua/Jesus/ and Yahuah /Yah(God), but am respectful of other's beliefs; I just I expect the same in return :)

I love aerial arts. For fun, I workout doing acroyoga, lyra hoops, and aerial hammocks. I also like to do leisure bike rides, hikes, swimming, etc.

My wonderful mechanical husband loves Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (we have a wonderful club here he goes to). He loves the outdoors, camping, mountains, oceans, fine booze, craft beer, good food, hunting, cars and adventures, loves music and playing guitar and watching comedies.

Both of us like to ride our motorbikes and explore whenever we can.

I welcome people from all backgrounds, beliefs and ethnicities. I think life is interesting when we have different opinions, as long we we can be respectful towards each other and respond to each other in love. I believe I can have a differing opinion than someone else, and have a real conversations with people about those differences, without the need to feel that either side needs to change the other person's belief system. I believe we were all created to be different, but that we are all gifted and have passions and that we are all connected and are meant to help each other out.

I have 2 sons, 1 smaller dog and have been with my dear husband for over 25 years.

I love nature, history, art, music, animals, travelling and being with real people. I do not do fake (not a fan of drama either!) Life has too many hardships and troubles, we do not need to create more!)

I am an honest person and like to share my experiences and learn from others. I hate injustices.
I like to help others; I love being mindful with how we treat the environment and care for animals and humankind. I am a fan of recycling and not being wasteful. I try to grow my own food all year round, although I am not the best at it! We recycle as much as we can and we expect those staying with us to do the same, when possible. We conserve electricity and water when we can. Every little bit helps.

My goal every year is to try something new and eat something new :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, but it is not as fun travelling without getting to know people who live in those areas; the insights, the conversations, the advice are what make a trip more meaningful.

I believe we are all connected and our world would be more loving and less judgmental if we met, ate and talked with more people, from all over.

Interests

I love being in the nature exploring, sitting at home with a good book, binge watching TV (then I can go weeks to months without watching it), trying new things, meeting people and being active. I love acro, lyra hoops, hiking and team sports and scuba diving. I love helping people, and finding good deals. I am a foodie, like trying good spirits and wines, and I love good discussions. I am a photographer, a teacher, and always a student!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cannot name just one!
~Hiking Ha Ling Peak in the winter, with deep snow (7.4-km out-and-back trail near Canmore, Alberta, 2,477 ft elevation gain). Getting to the saddle, having the line in our camel back freeze within a few minutes! Took us 4.5 hours, with very little stops, as it was quite cold, especially with the wind.
~Cycled with my sons, 300km (lots of steep hills and even up a mountain where there was snow) in 3 days (previous to that, I had only done leisure bike rides).
~Hike in camping trip to Mount Robson (in Canadian Rockies, in British Columbia) with my family. Including hiking out 21km in one day.
~Spartan Beast! Spartan Sprint, Mud, Sweat and Tears, etc. I love obstacle races!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some acro moves, stretches, sign language, yoga, healthy meals,....
I can share about my hometown, and schedule permitting, maybe show you to other locations not too far off. I may be able to make you a meal. I am a huge fan of blind taste tests when it comes to some of the things we offer here in Canada! (Time and notice permitting) Part of the fun of being in Canada is trying different things!

Depending on the season, I can show you some of the wildberries, and edible plants in our area, foxes dens, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am clean, caring, sharing and adventurous. If I am able, especially if I am given enough notice, I would love to go with you on hikes, adventures, etc. I can show you around this area.

Sometimes I can share a meal, drinks, etc with you, sometimes my schedule is very hectic and I will not have as much visiting time.

If coming via the train, I will try my best to come get you, if you need a ride, as it gets it super late.
