About Me

Hello, I'm a very chill writer currently based in Lisbon. I mostly write about art, but I've also dabbled in writing about music and literature. (If you're curious to read my work let me know and I can send you links!) I grew up speaking both English and Portuguese, lately, I have been trying to improve my French as I would love to move to Paris next year. I enjoy a glass of wine, going to galleries, walks, and hearing about people's life experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Very honestly - I have been offered a press pass to go to Art Basel but I am Portuguese, broke, and there's no room at any hostel in Basel this late in the game. I thought this would be a good opportunity to finally try Couchsurfing . I can cook a good meal, I'll bring a nice bottle of Portuguese wine and a box of pasteis de nata!

Music, Movies, and Books

Saying your favourites is always super hard but this is my best shot:
Music: Serge Gainsbourg, The Smiths, Talking Heads, Magnetic Fields, Billie Holiday, Joni Mitchell...
Authors: Joan Didion, Frank O'Hara, Virginia Woolf, Djuna Barnes, Françoise Sagan, Elizabeth Bishop...
Movies: Vivre Sa Vie, Rope, Saturday Night Sunday Morning, Mon Oncle...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been published in the Guardian!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you about the Portuguese language and culture, but also because I lived in Dublin and London, I can tell you about Irish and English cultures. I can also cook pretty well (yay to the Mediterranean diet). I can give you a pretty spot on book recommendation and we can discuss art, philosophy and books.
