HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As a native of San Francisco, I hope that I can be a resource to people who might visit.
I don't have any immediate travel plans, but it would be great to also be able to connect with locals while I am traveling to their home towns.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to the couchsurfing.com project, but definitely am not new to the idea of couch surfing. So many genuine people have opened up their homes and lives to me over the years, and really inspired me to be more generous too. I have LOTS of couch surfing stories that I can share with you, but I don't know you well enough yet.

I enjoy backpacking, hiking, experimental music, bizarre healthy foods, little art galleries that stay open late, meditation, bikeriding, swimming in rivers, and teaching english.

Books that I re-read over and over again are: Grapefruit by Yoko Ono, The Cosmic Serpent: DNA and the Origins of Knowledge by Jeremy Narby, Being Peace by Thich Nhat Hanh, and Homework: Handbuilt Shelter by Lloyd Kahn

I tend to like movies that leave me feeling like the earth could end at any moment. This is strange, because I'm generally an optimist. Such movies include The Squid and the Whale, Time of the Wolf, Lovers of the Arctic Circle, City of God, and anything by the Dardenne brothers particularly Rosetta

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

My life is mysterious and amazing, but mostly because of the journey and not the outcome. This year I did hike the Inca trail where I saw humans carrying entire kitchens on their backs. I also spent some time in California's National Forests where I saw a giant bear eating my potato. I can't possibly sum up my lifetime here though.
