Always travelling alone is not always good. Having company to share and exchange is once in a while a positive experience.
Hosting or being a guest doesn't mean one needs to find a tour operator or facilities like a Club Med. I always take this into consideration. People are not available for us 24 hours a day.

COMMUNICATION :
Please note that I organise and prepare my moves BEFORE I travel as much as possible to avoid : problems of comunication and surcomunication when moving and travelling and out of home. I need explainations to reach the place whre I go, people do not always have antenas on their head :) (generation G5).
If you want to reach me it's better phoning so we can talk and give informations if necessary. Please avoid SMS so I'm oblige to write texts at moments when I'm not necessarily available to do so because I'm in places where it's not convenient to comunicate.
When I'm with people, hosting of visiting them I also avoid to communicate in such a way to be enterily present to others.
Concerning dishes and other help in the house, some people wants us to help others not, the best is that if you need something just ask it. I'm completly open and receptive to help people in the limits of my knowledge if I'm at home. I thinks it belong to the host to explain the way the house works and different things he'd like us to do. I do the same thing when I host people.
Finally, the expercience shows that when a member is hosting and belongs to a community he or she needs to inform well the other roomates of the spirit of Couch surfing to avoid contamination in the couch surfing ambiance from people not as open as people travelling around.

Philosophy, history, adventures, trips. If people don't like the topic of conversation or some aspects of my behavior, I'm very open to lean about it directly, live instead that we have to guess or that they give a negative commentary that will anyway deserve a bad one after anyway.

Contribution for food is requested.
Being at home doesn't mean I'm full time available, people should enjoy nature, animals also by themselves if I'm not available.
When I'm hosted I don't offer necessarily myself to make the dishes if people don't have it written in their profile and don't ask me after the meal. In fact one cannot remember all the profile of the host.
This is also du to the fact that some hosts don't expect and don't want people making the dishes.
At my place I don't oblige my host to do it but I ask an alimentary contribution whatever it is.
When people plan to invit me to a restaurant it's better to ask before if I want, if it's my style, if I've planned it in my budget. I personnaly never impose an activity which is not free to my hosts.
When I host I let people doing what they want and can share free time with them.
Some hosts are nudist and/or homosexual. I'm not homosexual. I can accept to give or receive a massage.
