About Me
EDIT: Below info is 1+ years (!) out of date. Keep this in mind when reading.
CURRENT MISSION
Do ALL OF THE THINGS
ABOUT ME
I love to travel! I'm currently a student at Mississippi State University, with a major of Computer Science. Last semester I interned in the DC area -- I met up with the Baltimore CS group a couple times, and they were super chill folks. Unfortunately the CS life hasn't quite caught on down here in Mississippi. I've recently gotten back into reading since I'm not in class all the time, and my current target is George R.R. Martin's "A Feast for Crows". I wish I could say adventure was my middle name, but I'm always trying to make it that way. If I find out about something fun or cool going on in the vicinity, I can be counted on to attend.
I'm learning German now through Duolingo, and I love it. I had it for a year in high school, and I just recently picked it back up. Once I reach conversational level (beyond "where is this" or "do you speak English"), I'll probably move on to something like italki.com, where I can talk to other people in their native language. Traveling a little has only motivated me further to learn more languages.
PHILOSOPHY
If you can't make fun of it, it's probably not worth doing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted a couple of people while I was in Maryland last semester, but I'm currently unable to host because I'll be out of the country shortly (also, I'm far from anywhere you would want to visit). Will be updating my status once I move back to Maryland.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had my first couchsurfing experience with a man named Joe Antkowiak during summer 2010. He was an excellent host, picking me up and showing me around town. Since then, I've met and hosted several couchsurfers, and my experience has been nothing but wholesome. I look forward to doing it more in the future!
Interests
Ballroom dance, kayaking, canoeing, rappelling, traveling, trying new foods, and visiting new places. Above all, talking to new people and hearing about their own experiences. There is literally nothing that I enjoy more than a hilarious anecdote.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I summited Mt. Baldy (Philmont Scout Ranch) during the summer of 2011. It wasn't the most difficult of climbs, but it was a life-changing moment for me. Oh, and I sang songs from the edge of the mountain's slope, just to say that I had. :)
Also, during the summer of 2010 while I was in the Boundary Waters, I carried a seventy-six pound canoe across a portage that was one mile and a quarter in length.
