Overview
About Me
I live in Detroit (yes, that big scary city in the mitten) and I love it! Talking to people and making new friends is energizing to me. My first Uber ride I ever took I knew all about the driver by the time I got to work.
I love traveling and experiencing new, different places and cultures.
I have a Journalism degree and hope to spend my life telling stories and taking pictures, but until I can do that full time I work in digital marketing to pay the bills and fund my travel habit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travel is a very rewarding part of life. Everyone should do it and do it often. Unfortunately it can be a bit pricey.
So I'd love to help other have a place to stay, especially those want to come and learn about Detroit. It's a great city, but with all the negative press, it could be scary to visit without a local. I'd love to introduce others to my love of this city!
I'd also like to use it to see new places and meet new people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a little bit of everything when it comes to music. Give me some classic rock or anything from the 90s and I'm going to be having a good time. I enjoy music I can dance to as much as music I can paint to.
Movies, again, are pretty varied. the only thing I don't really like are horror movies. Gone in 60 Seconds, Wanted, Dead Poets Society, Second Hand Lions, Singing in the Rain, Pitch Perfect are some of my favs to name a few.
Fiction books, something with a great story line I can get lost and invested in. Also, anything by C.S. Lewis
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm what have I done that's amazing...
I did a 5 mile mountain bike tour through the Alaskan Rainforest. After about 2 1/2 miles or so we road into this open field and it was probably the most stunning scenery I have ever take in. It was the kind of beauty that stuns you to silence, it literally took my breath away.
What I Can Share with Hosts
That Detroit is an amazing city and it's not what people think it is.
As cheesy as it sounds, friendship. A close friend once told me that I collect people. It made no sense at the time (this was about 12 years ago), but she was completely right.
I have people that i've meet through jobs, school, church and other social situations that, even though it's been years, whenever I see them it's like no time has passed. People, for some reason or another, remember me and stay connected with me. I love having friends from all walks of my life.
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, Germany, Haiti, Mexico, Peru
