About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning about the world I live in, trying to survive in it, trying to be a good person

ABOUT ME

I am working as an IT-er, but in my free time I read, I practice philosophy (a bit), I go to the theatre, I walk, Cycle, and I volunteer for some organisations with a social value.
I keep feeling like a young person although my body apparently gets older... I am trying to understand the world, I am trying to give my life some meaning... but I don't know if I manage to do that..
I am very open-minded towards other people. I try to understand everyone's position, even id I do not agree with them.

PHILOSOPHY

I see people as individuals, not as part of a group (as racists do).
Do not judge people too quickly, try to look at the world from their point of view...
Do good, and try not to judge what others do...

Music, Movies, and Books

Film: Ken Loach, Woody Allen, David Lynch (although sometimes tooo enigmatic), The Lord of the Rings, Mike Leigh, La meglio gioventu/the best of youth, The pianist, Der Untergang, Terms of endearment... etc ... I did not like "ET".

Music: Joy division, Pink Floyd (especially their early work), Nick Cave, Radiohead (best band ever), P.I.L., The Belgian punk band 'Aroma di Amore', and lots of other Belgian bands....

Books: non-fiction, books on religion and philosophy, and science (e.g. Stephen J.Gould).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

:-)Almost died rafting on the Zambezi River (wild and scary! awesome! but never again), Saw Victoria falls from the air
Stood on top of the WTC (when it was still there!)

:-( Visited people living on a dumping ground, and in a large slum in Manilla. Impressive and Depressing at the same time.... Saw huge walls and fences.. (in several places) that keep people away from each other
oops.. could only mention one thing here?

Teach, Learn, Share

Share/Teach: some life experience, how I see life. You want to learn Dutch? Or some Flemish swearwords ;-)?

Or some basic French? I could tell you about the countries I visited...

Learn: how people from different places see the world, you could teach me some words in your language

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Botswana, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Guatemala, India, Israel, Malawi, Morocco, Palestine, Philippines, Poland, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In
