To see the world! I've lived long enough in comfy, temperate Southern Ontario, Canada, and I'm on a mission to see as much of the world as I can while I can.

ABOUT ME

A simple guy with simple interests. I grew up in Southwestern Ontario, Canada and have lived here for most of my life. I'm an extremely easy-going guy with a penchant for nature, history, and spending quality time with good friends and family. I love relic-hunting and am always searching for old stuff or anything that offers a taste of the history of a place I am visiting. Travel is a recenly developed interest of mine which combines a lot of the things I love with the chance to explore. I love visiting new places, trying new food, meeting new people and of course the local beer and wine are always welcome as part of the effect of visiting a new place!

I'm very curious about a lot of things I have never tried, and I can promise I'm easy going enough to try almost anything at least once. I'm hard-working and will happily help out if anyone needs a hand while I'm around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While I'd love to host couch-surfers, I am still living in a student house with several house mates and limited space. I'm hard-pressed to find you a place to sleep, but I am always happy to meet up with someone who wants to learn about the area I live in. Some day I will have space to accomodate travellers such as myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to couch surfing! Apart from accomodating a lot of friends over the years (cooking, driving, showing them around the area), I admittedly have never couch-surfed to this day.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Forrest Gump, The Straight Story, Back to the Future, any Wes Anderson films
Music: Any and all - from local artists & traditional musical styles to modern electronic & rap. Especially a big fan of swing, 1950s-1960s pop, classical, and a lot of contemporary music (esp. indie).
Books: Not a big reader, but I like a lot of the classics, and I enjoy a bit of historical non-fiction here and there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two summers spent on Northern Baffin Island in the Canadian arctic working as a geologist - among the last frontiers of unsettled land on Earth. Beautiful scenery, fantastic people, questionable but delicious traditional foods and a lot of hours spent riding around in helicopters!

I'm not sure what knowledge I have to share with the world - I guess I'll have to figure that out when the moment is right. Tell me what you want to know and I would be more than happy to teach you what I know about it.
