About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Having a great time.

ABOUT ME

All about me? Wouldn't know how to possible put that into words. I'm here on couchsurfing, so I guess that means I love to travel and meet other people.
Recently moved to Lausanne to finish my university education and start a phd, learn French and enjoy the good life here.
Do like to hang out with interesting people. Appreciate people who know how to don't say anything when there's nothing to say.
Things I love to do? Being lazy in the summer while drinking a beer (or wine) and watching people passing by doing whatever people think they need to do.

PHILOSOPHY

Ever read The Tao of Pooh? Something like that I guess.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By enjoying the company of other couchsurfers. Mostly by going to gatherings or just random get-togethers to meet new people you wouldn't get to know otherwise.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some in Europe, a bit in California while I was living there. Not that active.

Interests

Traveling, new people, outdoors, randomness, photography, physics, philosophy, coffee bars, good talks, lazy days, big lightning storms, beers, music, unexpected things, city's, having non-awkward silences, bikes, midnight snacks, book stores, making comments about people passing by, ...Not necessary in that order.

Music, Movies & Books

Music --> last.fm/user/Bart_Stel (too much to write all down) But to give an impression: Regina Spektor, The Black Keys, Pink Floyd.

Movies like Dogville, Amelie, El labirinto del fauno, Cidade de Deus or Låt den rätte komma in are certainly among my favorite ones.

The list of my favorite books will, among many, many other books, consist of The Dark Tower series from Stephen King and The Wheel of Time series from Robert Jordan. But also Tinkers from Paul Harding, 1421 from Gavin Menzies or People Like Us from Joris Luyendijk won't be missing.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Serengeti National Park. Definitely mind blowing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn, and whatever I know I'll be able to teach... if you are interested the least I can do is try.Share experiences, thoughts, questions without answers, good times.

Countries I've Visited

Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tanzania, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I've Lived In

Netherlands, Switzerland, United States
