My name is Bas and I am 19 years old. I am living with my father, my mother and my 17 year old brother in Utrecht, which is a big city in the middle of Holland. At the moment, I am enjoying my gap year while I work full time. I have graduated highschool June 2017.

I am working at Domino's Pizza as Store manager. My biggest responsibility is that everything has to go well, from taking care of a good working ambiance to ensuring that the delivery times are good. I really like working at Domino's because all personnel are friends of each other and the work is very nice.

In my spare time, I love to hang out with friends, go to parties, listen to music, watch TV shows and go to the gym. I am very social and therefore I have many friends. We do a lot of fun things with our group of friends.
I also love making music. However, not on normal instruments but on my computer. I make music with a program called FL studio. With FL studio you have the possibility to build up your own track step by step. By combining the right digital instruments, sometimes you can really create wonderful things. I do not want to make a future of producing but it is just a nice hobby.

It was always a great dream of mine to live and work in The United States and I am really excited that it will become reality soon. I am going to The States because I think it is a beautiful country with its beautiful cities and nice nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am fascinated by the amazing culture and by the nice people living in The United States.
And therefore I want to know what it's really like to live in America.
I would very much like to Surf, because it is a great opportunity to get to know a lot of people.
I have never spent longer time abroad. However, I have been on holidays and exchanges without my parents so I don’t think I will become homesick. I am really curious to hear all about you.
