Hi, I'm Bas.
I currently work as a surveyor on the Afsluitdijk. Which is an iconic structure of the Netherlands.

In my free time I dedicate time to trading, learning languages, photo/videography , joining social events to meet new people.

I have always loved learning new things, so when I started with learning Spanish I really wanted to learn more, explore, talk, experience the cultures and all that comes with it. Learning a language feels like exploring a new world, which is so cool.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first I was a little skeptical about traveling but once I took the step to go alone to Mallorca I was sold.
I love diving in the deep so to say, just not knowing what lies ahead of you, that makes it so fun for me.
Then only went solo travelling from that point on, it's so much nicer :) especially if you are learning the language.

Exploring, meeting people, sharing, and especially learning is my main motivation to travel.
I have only been to places in Spain so far, because I just love the language.

Visited Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Mallorca and having planned to go to Málaga and Sevilla.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: reggaeton
Movies: Interstellar, best movie that I've ever watched. It brings some astronomy and physics with it, which I am interested in, therefore making it a really great movie. You also need to search up some physics afterwards to understand why certain things happen in the movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo traveling to Mallorca. Going out alone, immersion in the Spanish language, discovering places, meeting people, that was the best decision I have made.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to talk about philosophy or psychology. Interested in playing piano, learning languages, and photography.
Trading is also something I dedicated a huge time on, and yeah for the rest people say I have humor haha
