ABOUT ME

Between basket making,gardening and working on fighting mountaintop removal we keep pretty busy. Our favorite thing to do is teach basketry classes, which we do often.
We have lived on 40 gorgeous acres in North Central WV
since 1985.
We spend much time working with several groups- Ohio Valley Environmental Council, WV Highlands Conservancy, and Coal River Mt Watch- getting the word out about Mountaintop Removal Mining.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are new to CS, turned on to it by our granddaughter. We are hoping to surf for our first time while visiting Portland in early October, and look forward to sharing our couch with others when we get back in late October.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have always thought that "sharing couches" was a good way to meet people, save money.In the early 80's our daughter, a current CSer, was a manager for a youth hostel in Maine. She often sent travelers going south to our "couch" in Long Island. It was a great idea then and a great idea now!

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh, gosh, you'd almost have to come see. We listen to lots of music, new and old: Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, Amanda Trees, Mark Knopfler, Pink Floyd, Eddie from Ohio.. Movies: We have Netflix so have a huge choice but mostly like comedy. My favorite is the Muppets and Rocky and Bullwinkle.
Two excellent recent books: Strange as This Weather Has Been by Ann Pancake and Plundering Appalachia. Both have to do with Mountaintop Mining.
