About Me

Hello! I’m Baxter, (but everyone calls me Bax). Starting on January 1 my childhood best friend and I will be in Europe, starting a long pilgrimage on foot from Pompeii to Jerusalem.

I’m a former high school AP History teacher, which means I spent a lot of time talking about the past and encouraging students to ask big questions. Somewhere along the way I decided to follow a more corporate path and started chasing after the world, I soon realized that chasing after material things would never make me happy and instead I should devote my life following the things of God, to slow life down, step outside my comfort zone , and spend real time in prayer and reflection with Christ. We are called to love all, without exception.

This is a spiritual journey for me. I hope some days are quiet and peaceful, some are tiring, and some surprise me in ways I didn’t expect. I’m walking through places that have carried faith and human struggle for thousands of years, and I’m letting the road do what it does best — teach patience, humility, gratitude and to introduce me to wonderful people.

I so look forward to meeting you!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love oldies, especially 60s music. My favorite films include anything with Brando, Pacino, or De Niro, but I have a special place for The Sound of Music. My favorite book is the Iliad!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran the stop across the street from Pawn Stars in Las Vegas!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an avid history lover and I lecture frequently on everything from Ancient Greece to Cold War Europe. In my past career I developed AP curriculum and had the opportunity to work with some of the world’s leading professors.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer good conversation, a helping hand, cleanliness, and I am always down for any kind of adventure!
