CURRENT MISSION

After a 35 year interruption I want to continue my vagabonding travels only this time it will be foreign cultures I never dreamed of seeing. New places to see and new people to meet.

ABOUT ME

I am nearing retirement and want to see a lot more of the world than I have seen up to this point. I have traveled some but I know I would be cheating myself if I did not see cultures that as of now are truly foreign to me. I do realize that what you hear or read about a country can be totally different from what you can expreience by being there.

PHILOSOPHY

I wish to see myself as a citizen of the world. In order to do that I must travel and experience. True traveling to me is being away from the "security" of hometown people and risking total emersion into a foreign society. That is exactly what I plan to do - travel and meet many new life long friends along the way.

So far I have stayed with hosts in Jerusalem,Cairo and Beijing and had great experiences. I hope to be a hosting travelers in my home city of Denver, Colorado, USA.

Seen the Brandenberg Gates (the Berlin Wall, Germany) from both sides on the same day in 1972 (before the wall came down). Saw the sunrise on Mt Sinai and the northern lights in Alaska. I watched Condors with wingspans over nine feet glide over our heads in the Colca Canyon in Peru.

Jerusalem has been my most favorable city to date. It has it all - diversity, food, religous history.

I have an open mind to see and judge cultures from first hand experiences. I would love to dispell all the negative stereotypes that are perpetrated on us by news medias, etc.
