About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Raleigh

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and have lived here most of my life. I work downtown and live very nearby. I get around by bicycle, so I end up spending most of my time in a fairly small part of the city. I love to travel and experience new cities more than almost anything else, but I always feel like downtown Raleigh is my home base.

I am a manager at Raleigh's most popular coffee shop, I train baristas, I try to fix espresso machines, and I roast my own coffee for fun.

When not making coffee, I ride my bicycle around town, read some books, watch movies, and try to learn Spanish.

PHILOSOPHY

We would oppose the turning of the planet and refuse the setting of the sun...

Never go on trips with anyone you do not love.

So it goes.

Show some fucking adaptability!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have only participated by hosting and surfing. I don't have lots of free time these days to do anything more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed with great people during my travels and have hosted plenty of cool folks in Raleigh.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled to Europe, North Africa and back to the U.S. without flying. Two weeks at sea aboard a small container ship on the way to Europe (mostly spent on the bridge hearing stories of the Polish captain's days in the Solidarity movement), and six days in an inside cabin of the Queen Mary 2 on the way back (mostly spent eating). I also saw a toucan flying around my neighborhood in Raleigh one time.
