Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ok, I have never had any Couch Surfing experience yet but I am looking forward to a start! I love travelling and I usually stay at youth hostels because well that's cheap, but more especially because they are great places to meet great people from all over the world. I have heard of CS through a friend and he has convinced me. I think it's always good to hear from the "locals", and I like the idea of a mutual sharing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Shyamalan stuff (not the last one though!) - Into The Wild - The butterfly effect - The Reader - La Vita è bella - American independent films such as Little Miss Sunshine, Juno (I'm not much into blockbusters) - French stuff like "l'auberge espagnole", "jeux d'enfants"
A bit eclectic I guess

Music: I'm a fan of Placebo. I also like REM, Muse, The Cranberries, Gotan Project, Interpol, Iron & Wine, Massive Attack, Radiohead, The Doors, Moby - Brit Rock in general, Indie. On the French side: Yann Tiersen, Benabar, Saez
I try to go to a music festival at least once a year. I'm a regular of "le festival des Vieilles Charrues", a big French festival hosted in my hometown. I like to discover new bands, my summer best picks are Band of Horses, Two Doors Cinema Club and Midlake.

Books: I used to read a lot of French classics, Zola and Victor Hugo for exemple. Now I read random things, I listen to my sister's advice and make my own selection from her shelves. I also try to read a lot in English, take ideas from the movies I watch: e.g. "Into the Wild" "Slumdog Millionaire".
