Roving global health data guy. I from the US (Arkansas), and have lived in DC, Baltimore, Princeton, NYC, Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam, and now (as of Nov 2017) Nairobi.

I've traveled to 50+ countries and now work throughout the East Africa region doing global health research with an international NGO. I like music (guitar / piano), photography, hiking, scuba diving, and high power rocketry.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I met, stayed with, and traveled with some great folks in Guatemala in summer 2010. Hung out with a bunch of CS folks in Addis Ababa (and hosted a few too) from June 2012-Jan 2013, and have used it occasionally for social meet-ups. Lately my work has required so much travel that I haven't been able to reliably host, but I'd like to again in the future!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've picked up a sod brick from the sod house where my grandpa was born in western Nebraska. Had a Croatian army tank commander buy me coffee in Split after an all-night bus ride. Gone on safari, explored rock-hewn churches in Ethiopia, stood on the rim of a volcano in DRC, played music with strangers everywhere. Explored the US by road trip, traveled overland from Portugal to Moscow.
