Biology and politics undergrad, then Masters degrees in public health and public policy. Former fundamentalist. Have lived in Arkansas; Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; Princeton, NJ; New York City; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; and now (since February 2014) Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Traveled to 40+ countries so far, with longer stints in Italy, Greece, Guatemala, Ghana, and Ethiopia, and worked recently in Nigeria, Zambia, Lesotho, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Blogger, guitarist, and high power rocketry enthusiast.

Met, stayed with, and traveled with some great folks in Guatemala in summer 2010. Hung out with a bunch of CS folks in Addis Ababa (and hosted a few too) from June 2012-Jan 2013.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've picked up a sod brick from the sod house where my grandpa was born in western Nebraska. Had a Croatian army tank commander buy me coffee in Split after an all-night bus ride. Gone on safari in Zambia, explored rock-hewn churches in Ethiopia, played music with strangers everywhere. Explored the US by road trip, traveled overland from Portugal to Moscow.
