Hello!

We are a young professional couple taking a career break in order to travel, volunteer and work across the Southern Hemisphere.

We are in our late 20s, Ben is an electrical engineer and Emma is a physiotherapist. In our spare time we play a lot of ultimate frisbee - we captain a team in Birmingham, UK, but hope to meet and join new teams around the world!

We have both travelled independently in Europe, Canada and East Africa and are looking forward to continuing our trips together.

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

We feel that Couchsurfing is an ideal option as we are keen to experience "living" within the countries we visit. From our previous experiences travelling and volunteering, both of us have found the adventure much more memorable and poignant if we are immersed within the culture of a country or city/town/village. We hope to develop these same attachments to new places by fitting in with the local community and living in a place rather than simply visiting.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

At the moment mainly chilled out music, something you would listen to whilst trying to sleep on a long bus ride. Ben likes so many films! Comedy, action, adventure, sci-fi, drama he watches a lot.

We are both reading a lot at the moment. Ben is reading the Genghis Khan series by Conn Iggulden whilst Emma is getting through quite a few books on people's experiences travelling around the world.

At the beginning of September we took a career break and now as a couple we are using this time to travel the world!

We are very interested in learning new languages! We are picking up Spanish and have completed lessons in Guatemala but are keen to continue to develop our language skills.

We would be happy to teach/share our love and knowledge of our favourite sport, Ultimate Frisbee, having done quite a lot of coaching in the past.

As we travel we hope to gain experience, insight, useful knowledge, hints, tips and tricks that other travellers might find useful when planning their travels.

We can both cook, clean and have put up a set of shelves. Having started a blog for this trip we have some knowledge about creating a webpage and writing blogs that we would be happy to share.
