ABOUT ME

I'm currently living in my hometown of Brighton after a summer of WWOOFing for a month in BC and hitch hiking down the west coast of America, as well as studying in Vancouver, British Columbia for two semesters on an exchange program since September. I am now enjoying the last of my summer freedom before having to head back to University to finish my degree.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a variety of wonderful and interesting people in the cities of Seattle, Portland, Arcata, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara and San Diego! Some were simply spontaneous invites from people who had picked us up from the side of the Highway and had hosted surfers before, it was a very humbling experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am read Garcia-Marquez's '100 Years of Solitude' this summer which was fantastic. I also just finished reading 'The Omnivores Dilema' and am currently re-reading Thoreau's 'Walden' as I am writing a personal dissertation on the Transcendentalists.

I love music from Fleetwood Mac, Neil Young to Nina Simone and Animal Collective. I also love being recommended music from people who are passionate about genre's I am not familiar with!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the Juan De Fuca Marine Trail on the west coast of Vancouver Island earlier this year - it was pretty amazing. Reaching the top of Yosemite's Half Dome after 12 mile slog accumulating with half a mile of vertical steel cables attached to a smooth granite surface was both exhilarating and terrifying as well!
