ABOUT ME

I'm a happily married mother of two although an empty nester now. I love to travel around the United States but usually on my own or with a friend. My husband's idea of vacations is checking into a fancy hotel and staying put and golfing every day. My idea of vacationing is traveling in the car going on back roads and getting to know the people, stopping at practically every historical marker, State and National Parks as well as stopping in towns and starting up conversations with locals. I spend more time off the beaten track and would love to have locals share more places with me. I love photography but still need a lot more experience. I enjoy going out at night, playing pool, darts or just chatting.
I have been in other countries but really want to spend the rest of my time in the United States. I have not been to the deep South yet, nor up around the Great Lakes. I've been all over California. I love being with people and learning about their experiences. I am easy going and love to laugh and love live music.
Not very athletic but I enjoy hiking. Not afraid of nature nor city.
I have been told that I ask too many questions! I just want to know about everything that I can and try to experience it or at least hear about others experiences.
One thing about me is that I am a 'jack of all trades and master of none' which I resemble with pride. I would rather try something once than just be interested in a few things and miss out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet up with people and get to know them and their experiences in their town. I want to experience their town with their knowledge. I also want to share what my life is like in my neck of the woods. I love where I live and would love to share all about wine country.
One of my favorite things in life is to meet all kinds of people and spend time with them. I am opened minded and like to hear about other interests and customs.

Interests

My main interests are gardening, photography, sewing and working on my genealogy. I love music, listening all the time usually to Pandora stations that I have set up, helping me learn new artists that are out there but not on pop radio. I enjoy golf when given the opportunity.
I absolutely love dogs, crazy about them! I have one dog, seven chickens (that are pets),and one parrot who will be 31 years old this spring 2015 and that I have had since he was 6 months old.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies I like to watch are mostly silly comedies, slapstick at best. I am not up on whatever the academy awards seem to think is art. I also like documentaries and travel shows. I like all kinds of music except negative rap . The books I tend to read are nonfiction and history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raised two beautiful children that are contributing to society and humanity. So happy to know they are set for their life and are living it.
