About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To ramp up the adventure level. I used to have lots of adventure, then I didn't and now I'm craving it.
ABOUT ME
I've done a bunch of things and nothing my entire life. I've lived on a sailboat, made and sold Jerry Garcia dolls while getting my BS in Math. I got my first real job at the age of 48 and a year later was promoted to director of the unit. I taught astronomy for a while after completing my MS and dropping out of the PhD program (ABD). I currently live in Ann Arbor MI and am fairly content, though work takes up way too much time.
I'm hoping to work a few more years only and then spend the rest of my days chasing the perfect wave in remote spots around the world and learning to snowboard.
PHILOSOPHY
try not to be too resentful when your neighbor asks you to help her re-bury her cat after it gets dug up by some critter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now, I can't guarantee
a couch, but would love to meet and greet. Take people to favorite restaurants. My husband's Brazilian and we do a fair imitation of a Brazilian bbq. We are also oenophiles and keep a small, but growing collection in the basement which we love to share.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've staid with my cousin in Madrid :-). I've slept on couches, floors, yards, and tree limbs. In vans and cars and tents in cow pastures while chasing the perfect concert.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailing across the Gulf of Mexico in the night with Halley's comet directly over the bow and dolphins leaving phosporescent trails in the water as they surf the bow wake.
Coming face to face with an Eagle Ray with a 10 foot wing span as I came up one side of a massive brain coral and he (she?) came up the other. We met at the top, both of us started and then he (she?) turned away.
Watching a line of squid pass rainbow colors from one to the other, then turn in unison, eject ink and disappear.
Swimming with hundreds of dolphins in water a 1000 fathoms deep and seeing them dive straight down so deep they just disappear below you.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you about astronomy, about flying gliders, about living on a sailboat.
