My name is Becky. I'm an English Teacher from the USA living in South Korea. I have lived here for about 2 1/2 years now. I like to travel, eat good food, and explore places by myself or with others. I love hanging out with friends, and have a great community of people in small town Jochiwon.

I like sharing my home with others, and making them feel comfortable and welcome. I also like traveling and always prefer to stay with friends rather than paying for a place to stay. I would like to extend the same courtesy to others who need it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like many different kinds of music depending on my mood, but I love alternative rock and metal.
My favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice, but I absolutely love watching movies and am usually up for any kind of film that sounds interesting or my friends recommend. Old movies and classics like Gone With the Wind are some of my favorites , too.
I love reading my Bible, but I also love a good mystery novel like Agatha Christie and any books that help me learn more about human trafficking and social justice.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved to South Korea on my own without really knowing much about the country. I guess I could say that's pretty amazing, and there are so many of us who have done this!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Baking. It's fun and I love doing it alone or with others! Painting and very basic Korean.

Learn: About other cultures, places to travel, cooking (I can bake but not cook well)

Share: I can give a place to relax and crash at the end of a long day or trip, and have lots of art supplies in case you feel like unwinding and doing something artistic. I am also willing to share my nail polish with anyone who wants to use it (let's face it, I am obsessed with nail polish).

I would be happy to share any Korean tips or resources on how to learn Korean.

I love to bake! I am an excellent baker and can give helpful tips or even try out baking something with prospective hosts!
