I have lived in the same home for over 20 yrs. I have two teenage children. I told them last year while we were in Mexico, that that was our last family vacation
Lol. I can't afford to go and see and do things that I would like to if I have to bring them along too. So I guess to write something about myself would be to say I'm finally at the stage of my life where they are ok on their own if I travel for a week or so but I still have big financial commitments. I'm hoping couch surfing will be able to make it possible for me to be able to close the gap between where I'd like to go and where I can afford to go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm hoping that I can do some traveling with the help of wonderful people who open their homes to people like me. I'm working to look after my home, 2 children and still would like to have a chance to get out and see the world. I'm hoping this is a good avenue to be able to afford to do this. :)

• outdoors activities but at beginner, easy level
• i like to bike, walk and swim

Music, Movies, and Books

I read mostly books about what goes on in the world that I wouldn't know about otherwise. I like to use the time I have to read (which is limited) to learn something. I love reading for entertainment but don't have much free time to do that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The thing that I have seen a few times is whales in the ocean and it takes my breath away every time. The most magnificent of these sightings was when the whale was breaching. Spectacular!
The thing that I've done that I feel is the most amazing was passing the volunteer firefighter physical test and written exam, at the age of 40. It was definately the most amazing feeling when I finished that!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I haven't looked through the site yet so I'm not sure what is expected but I'm not opposed to cleaning up my own things...wash sheets and blankets, do laundry, make a meal.
