I love to travel, but I don't want to be a tourist. I want to know what it's like to be a resident in a new area, a new city, or a new country. Hotels make me feel isolated and the thought of riding around all day in a tour bus makes me feel despondent.

I love the idea of meeting new friends and sharing meals and stories with them.
