ABOUT ME

My name is Becky. I'm a university student, studying to be a high school English teacher. I promise I'm not as boring as I sound. Honest.

I sing in my car all the time. I've been known to read one book a week on average. I love chocolate-covered pretzels and "Breakfast at Tiffany's". I used to want to be a forensic anthropologist, then a marine biologist, and then an astronaut. For some reason, I settled with high school teacher.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to live each day to the fullest. Even if I have exams all day or if I'm just at home, doing chores, I try to do at least one thing that makes me happy. Because honestly, what fun is life if you're not happy? I think I would describe myself as an optimistic realist - I look at things positively, but I know that at any minute, things could change. So I try to live in the moment.

And I would love to travel most anywhere, though I've always wanted to visit Australia, France, and the U.K. But really, I'd go most anywhere. I'm here to make connections and friendships with people, and hopefully - at some point - I'll end up on their couch on some whirlwind traveling excursion.

I want to learn to play guitar. I've always wanted to try surfing. I'd love to just learn about another culture and experience new things.

I know a place around here that serves some of the best pizza I've ever tasted - cross my heart. I can honestly say that Ohio is a lot more wonderful than most people think. Above anything else, I can share good conversation. Things I've seen and done and experienced in life. I think that's meaningful - I hope it's meaningful. Deep down, I think we're all just looking to connect with other people. Hopefully I can be just one more person in someone's life that's made an impression on them.
