I believe one of the best ways to travel is to experiencing a place with a local!
Also, I love meeting new people :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In March of 2016 I took a trip to the Azores where not only did I have an AMAZING time, but I also had a great experience truly couchsurfing for the first time as well as meeting up with fellow travelers through the couchsurfing organization!

At the time I joined Couchsurfing, in 2009, I was driving around the United States, but for those 4 months of almost constant travel I ended up always staying with friends or friends of friends everywhere I went. So I did my fair share of couchsurfing that summer (and also during other times of my life) but none of it was through the actual couchsurfing website.
During the summer of 2011, my close friend Anna and I traveled to Greece, Italy, Spain, and Portugal and we were hoping to couchsurf as a way to meet awesome people who could give us the insiders scoop on their towns, but ended up in hostels which was fun too, although we did stay with a friend in Athens as well as my friend in Madrid (who are not on couchsurfing).

Good people, good conversation, and good food!
As well as traveling, hiking, reading, photography (especially film!), craft beer, camping, and just wandering around or hanging out relaxing at a friend's house!
