Played too much when I was young, worked too hard when I got older, and now I want to figure out how to mix the best of both phases into a perfect new blend.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

With the goal of creating an on again off again roaming gypsy lifestyle and building/becoming part of a global network of alternative lifestyles Couchsurfing.org is playing a key role in meeting people and finding new places to visit.

I have converted (sort of) my car into a stealth camper and along with a small 40"x50" trailer towed behind as storage and kitchen (affectionately and collectively referred to as the caRV). The goal was/is to maintain a bit of normalcy in outward appearance to facilitate car camping and visiting smaller towns without freaking out or annoying the locals. I bounce from place to place looking for neat culture, amazing natural wonders, and fun stuff to do (especially mountain biking and creative whatever) while yo-yoing peridiocally back to home base in Vista, Ca.

When I am traveling I mostly utilize the "caRV" taking advantage of dispersed camping in National Forests and at/around generous people's homes and property. So couchsurfing for me is often more about meeting new people, learning what the locals love about a given area, and taking advantage of "housekeeping" opportunities (shower/laundry/ice), more than looking for a couch. But traveling for me is about experiencing new people, new ways of thinking/being, building a better world, and generally having a good time.

I will happily cook for you, help with your computer or web development, discuss life the universe and everything, milk the chickens, and especially get involved with whatever crafty/creative projects you have going on. I hope to see you soon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing.org is still extremely new to me despite how long I have been a member, but my experiences so far have been nothing but positive. Since my wanderings are far more whimsical and recommendation driven I have no agenda while I am traveling which makes it hard to make advance plans for where I might be. Please forgive if I contact you with short notice or just because I desperately need a shower :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Most recently Yosemite was a spiritual experience for me. The exceptional snow last winter apparently made this a an extra special stop this year. The Mayan ruins all over the Yucatan was a definite life highlight. Otherwise experiencing life anywhere in the world from a local perspective (as opposed to the typical tourist experience) is amazing to me. Learning about and experiencing local culture first-hand is what I am really looking for. That unique experience that can only be had in your town or village.

As a web developer I would be happy to both teach anything I know about HTML, CSS, PHP, WordPress, and web design in general.

I am obsessed with food and eating so any chance to exchange recipes and cooking tips/knowledge is a joy. Probably I need more tips and recipes than I have to share but you never know ;)
