About Me
Hello couchsurfers! My name is Bekah and I currently live in the youthful, beautiful city of the north - Groningen. Moved here in November 2015 to study and have grown to love the city very much, I recommend it for people who want to experience a lively yet chill city and still have the option to explore the Netherlands countryside. We love meeting new people (we = me and my bf Adam) and making friends around the world. We love to cook and host people, enjoy a good beer in our local bar and also just relax on the couch and watch a movie. We are also avid travelers and love to explore new places, especially those with some history and great museums.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We love to travel but also love the idea of having travelers come to us. We like to make the most of our trips but spend the least amount of money while still really experiencing the places we visit. I always love meeting new people and learning about different cultures and insider hints on potential destinations.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- anything really! From old rock classics like led zeppelin to music like acid jazz/electronica such as Bonobo, if it sounds good I will probably like it. I am always looking for more suugestions.
Movies - Lord of the rings, fifth element, Deadpool, any Studio Ghibli movie, Pan's Labyrinth, Dark crystal, stargate, serenity, ex machina...I like a lot of movies and different genres.
Books - love my fantasy books! some of my fav authors are Robin Hobb, Terry Brooks, J. R. R Tolkien, George R. R Martin, Neil Gaiman. I like comics as well and graphic novels..again always looking for more suggestions ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my most memorable experiences was climbing the natural site of Pamukkale in Turkey. It was an amazing site, containing hot springs and travertines, terraces of white carbonate minerals left by the flowing waters..but even more amazing was the amazing ruins of a the ancient Greco-Roman and Byzantine city of Hierapolis built on top of this white "castle". It was a spa city so many people went there for healing or to live out their days of retirement so there is this amazing large necropolis (essential a graveyard) filled with sarcophagi and large monuments! Will never forget it and highly recommend a visit.
