Academic Background: Bakhtyar Aslanov received his BA in International Relations from Khazar University in 2009 in Azerbaijan. As a Rotary Peace Fellow, he obtained his MA in International Relations, with a specialization in Peace and Conflict Studies from the Uppsala University in 2014 in Sweden. Later, Mr. Aslanov did study non-degree intensive master course on “Peace Research” conducted at University of Oslo and Peace Research Institute in Oslo.

Current Peace Activities: He coordinates and organizes numbers of conflict transformation and confidence and peace building projects on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and other regional conflicts since 2009 up to now. His areas of research interest include conflict transformation, mediation, reconciliation and peace building. He published several articles on peace and conflicts studies and conflicts in the South Caucasus topics. Currently, he works on some academic and analytical articles on IDPs, demining activities, security and peace building initiatives over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Simultaneously, he was a lecturer on Conflict Studies course at Khazar University and was Rotary Peace Ambassador for 2016 (by Rotary International and Institute for Economics and Peace). He has also worked in different institutes that focus on peace and conflict studies in Sweden, Germany.
