Travelling the world on a small motorbike

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from London but have been fascinated by travel and the world for as long as I can remember. I like to live with very little which is just as well as I gave most of my things away as I don't need them. I only have the essentials - a small motorbike, a camera, laptop, phone and a few personal bits. Now my children are grown up, I am free again so I'm riding around Australia, meeting people, making friends, seeing new things and doing what my old nan told me when I was young: ' people are people wherever they live. They're the same as us but a bit different too. When you're old enough, go out and meet as many as you can and find out for yourself'.

PHILOSOPHY

Do your thing but understand that it's not what everybody would do or will approve of. However, be respectful and accepting, then do it anyway.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm easy going and content with very little. I like people, places and stuff, and am happy doing anything interesting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just a beginner.... but when I lived in London, I hosted a regular stream of travelling strays, acting as tour guide, clothes washer, fixer and tool lender as required.

Movies - not a great movie fan; why watch actors dress up and pretend when you can see it for real?
Music - anything except rap and Paul McCartney.
Books - factual and interesting rather than fictitious distraction. Real life is far more interesting

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

You know what? I met the most fantastic and self effacing people on a photo and interview project, collecting stories of old ladies who had taken over men's jobs during WW2. It was an amazing, inspirational and humbling experience, ending in the creation of a national archive, ensuring their stories will be preserved forever.
