I think I have a bit of post-college graduation depression so I am trying to enjoy my year off to the fullest before going back to graduate school. Thus, I need to travel, and cheaply!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I'm just trying to find people to host my best friend and I in Europe for our month abroad trip. Then I'm really interested in hosting some backpackers over the next year while I'm in Bloomington for my gap year.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I'm really proud of myself for traveling to Brazil as a high school junior. While the rest of my friends were staying in our hometown working over the summer, I went to a place most people from Indiana don't even know about (Most of my friends and family thought Brazil I would live in a hut in the rain forest and speak Spanish!) I went knowing no Portuguese and I stayed with a family in which only the 13 year old and 8 year old daughters spoke some English. I had an amazing time getting to know the Brazilian people and way of life (which I think is probably the best), and I also returned with a good knowledge of spoken Portuguese. Another thing I am proud about was my ability to navigate the Sao Paolo airport on my return trip, speaking only Portuguese.
