ABOUT ME

I currently live in Chicago, Illinois.

I lived abroad in South Korea from the summer of 2006 until the winter of 2016 and enjoyed every moment of it. So far I've traveled to 29 countries; I hope to add many more in the years to come!

A few words to describe me: Christian. Stage Manager. Coffee Addict. Drinker of red wine. Baker.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed 4 times so far; each were very different, but good, experiences (Taipei, Yogyakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Shanghai).
I hosted for the first time this summer, and really enjoyed it (though quickly discovered my crazy schedule doesn't really allow for it). I've also taken a fellow member out for darts and drinks once, and connected a couple to my church here and was able to enjoy some fellowship over dinner with them and a few others from my church. This summer I also met up with another couchsurfer and his friend for a brunch while they were in town and was able to tell them a little about the Korean culture and expat life here. So, though I can't host, I am happy to meet up when able!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As mentioned above, I've surfed 4 times: the first was in Taipei, Taiwan, then in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, followed by Kuala Lumpur, Malyasia, and, most recently, in Shanghai, China. All of my hosts have been very informative and helpful, and also very kind. Each experience was also very different and I hope to get more chances to surf in the (near) future!

One amazing thing? I'd have to say that moving across the world and finally finding my passion (theater) is amazing.

What I enjoy most when I travel, or when I meet people from, well, anywhere, is learning about their life, their culture, their world.
