About Me

I'm a recovering tech startup entrepreneur and software developer who's now spreading the joys of wellness, internal energy work, and tea!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking forward to traveling a lot this year, so hope to meet a lot of wonderful people and share some beautiful experiences. I'm also excited to meet travelers coming through Santa Cruz when I'm here. So, get in touch!

Interests

There's little I love more than fantastic tea, Qi Gong, and nature. So, I often combine the three - take a beautiful hike, bring boiling water for a tea ceremony, and then do some Qi Gong. It's wonderfully relaxing and energizing at the same time!

I play several instruments (drums and percussion, guitar, and a bit of piano) and am just discovering my voice, and how to sing with my heart open. I "write" tunes all the time, but no lyrics. I'm always open to jamming with other musicians, time permitting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a lot of different kinds of music, from classic rock and jam bands all the way to indy rock and alternative, from folk and bluegrass all the way to electronica and house music. Some favorites, in that order: Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, Phish, The Long Winters, Pearl Jam, Abigail Washburn, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Daft Punk, Ratatat, R2DJ

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have spent two weeks in a full-on Mexican prison, and am no longer allowed in Mexico. Feel free to ask for the story, though I can't guarantee I'll tell ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

What I Can Share with Hosts

I tend to travel with uncommonly good Pu-erh tea, and am happy to share my knowledge of that. If you have an instrument I may be able to play you a tune. And, I'm always happy to teach and share my love of Qi Gong.
