Hey travelers!

My name is Ben and I am small-town boy born and raised in rural Vermont. The past two years I have been studying History at Brown University, where I spend a lot of my time outside the classroom acting in performances of all sorts and writing comedy. When I'm in Vermont you can find me spending most of my time gardening, mowing lawns, and guiding people to a perfect swimming hole or rope swing. I love jumping into things and working hands on, whether it is a film shoot for an original series or growing a new variety of tomato.

This summer I am headed out to LA with my girlfriend for the summer to work for FX, the television network, as development intern. We are both excited to use the drive out to the west coast as an opportunity to meet new people and explore new places. We love hearing people's stories about their path, their passions, and their lives.

We want to spend as much time out and exploring whatever city or town I am passing through and talking to the people that live there. Besides being expensive, I often feel like a hotel can separates you from experiencing the people and the sights of a city. Couchsurfing seems to be a great fit on all fronts.

This past summer I had to corral an angry Bull that had broken out of the trailer it was being held in. The bull was running like crazy all up and down the valley where the farm was. It ultimately ended up on a neighboring property and a big group of us had to draw up a strategy for how we were going to get the massive, frenzied bull back into a new trailer that would hopefully hold it. The process took a lot of elaborate maneuvering and constant fear that the bull would break but ultimately we prevented the runaway bull from getting into too much trouble.
