I'm originally from New York and I recently moved to Eindhoven after quitting my job and traveling around the world for more than a year.

When I travel I look to experience different cultures and see what makes a particular country or city unique. During my travels I've made many new friends and have tried my best visit them in their hometowns. I've experienced great kindness from strangers and hopefully I can return the favor to others.

I did a fair amount of couchsurfing on my world trip because I wanted a more authentic experience and to learn about the hidden gems in cities around the world. On that trip I stayed at hostels for the first 3/4 and then transitioned to staying with both people on Couchsurfing and with people that I had met earlier on the trip. Now it's time to swap roles and do some hosting of my own.

I love all forms of media: going to concerts and festivals, going to the cinema, watching TV, and watching the newest Broadway musical. Also, one of my hobbies is board games (and not just your classic ones like Monopoly or Clue). We are living in a golden age! Finally for outdoor activities I enjoy hikes, rock climbing (mainly indoor though I'd love to do more outdoor climbing), playing team sports, and I'm slowly learning to snowboard.

Movies - I have favorites in all genres (I watch a lot of movies)! Some movies of my favorite directors/movies that come to mind are: Nolan's movies (The Prestige, Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar, etc.); Cameron's movies (Terminator 2, Aliens, Titanic), Chazelle's movies (Whiplash, La La Land); Miyazaki's movies (Spirited Away, My Neighbor Tortoro, Princess Mononoke); Spielberg's movies (Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan); and also all the Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and Disney Animation movies. So many more!
