I have lived a very interesting life in four countries and have traveled to most of the continents. I like to travel to unusual places like Hokkaido, Tibet, Big Bend National Park, Tokyo, or to have adventures in my home neighborhood. (This summer I am going to drive to the Arctic Circle from New York City!) I am divorced and have grown children who are doing their own amazing things. I enjoy eating, cooking, listening to vinyl records, talking to people, repairing the world when I get the chance, or just reading a good book. I am Jewish and celebrate the Sabbath each week on Friday night/Saturday. I have stayed in people's homes around the world, and created homestay exchanges for my students when I was a high school principal. I prefer simple things like a sunset, listening to the birds in the forest, playing a record, or cooking a good meal.
