I was born and raised in Belgium, in a small town just outside of Brussels. When I was 18 I studied a year in Oregon, Usa and I think being abroad for that long initiated my love for travelling and the outdoors. I have a degree in translation but always worked in tourism, first in a travel agency in Belgium, then as a volunteer guide in Nicaragua and finally as a hostel assistant in the Scottish Highlands. I love hiking and camping and hope to one day complete a long distance hike like the Pacific Crest Trail. I'm easy going and enjoy the outdoors as much as having a lazy night in watching movies. I do also enjoy going to concerts whenever I can. I have learned a lot from travelling and hope to keep meeting interesting people and see the beauty the world has to offer.

The real idea behind creating this profile is to travel more locally, gain some true insight into a host country. That's why at the same time I'm volunteering during my travels, to get a better connection with the local community.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: folk, blues, 60's & 70's, Americana, trova, salsa...I have a record collection of all these genres. Inspirations to me have been Jack Johnson and Salvador Cardenal (Duo Guardabarranco)
Movies: Into the wild, the goonies, back to the future,...I enjoy a good comedy
Books: Catcher in the rye ( and other Salinger stories), the curious incident of the dog in the night time,...I don't read as much as I should
