About Me

I'm a 21 year-old History and Film student and I've just finished up a year on exchange at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. I'm excited to see more of what North America has to offer!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to explore with friends and on my own, and it seems like a great way to find somewhere to stay, as well as meet interesting people; hear about their lives, tell them about my own and all that good stuff. I've been meaning to get some more travelling done and this seems like a perfect way to go about it with a lot of freedom.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Fleet Foxes, Arcade Fire, Neutral Milk hotel, The Shins, Bruce Springsteen, Alvvays, Death Grips, First Aid Kit, The Tallest Man On Earth, Black Sabbath, Metallica, High On Fire, Sleep, Kvelertak, Public Enemy.

I enjoy a lot of movies from the silent era, especially German ones, as well as silent comedies like Chaplin and Keaton. I also love Japanese movies from the 50s and 60s. I like less pretentious films as well.

I love to get into endless conversations abut films and music with anyone.

Books: my favourite book of all time is a comic book called Maus by Art Spiegelman. At the moment I'm reading the anthropology book Guns Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In summer 2016 I volunteered at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. An amazing and I opening experience to say the least, and one I learned a lot from.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm okay at cooking vegan food which I'd be happy to share. Tofu burritos are my speciality. Beyond that I can share some witty British insights. Also I know some good card tricks.
