About Me

I'm a History student who loves to travel, always up for meeting new people and to philosophise over a good beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't like impersonal hotels. Couchsurfing is not primarily a way to save money for me (and it shouldn't be for anyone) but a way to meet people and interact with locals. Travelling isn't about ticking off places I've visited, but about seeing and immersing myself in other cultures.

Interests

History of course is a big interest of mine, since it's also my occupation. You'll be able to fascinate me with anything from the most ancient to very modern history. When traveling I like to therefore also commit to local history and culture. I love a good museum but also like to just wander around a city or small town and get purposefully lost, admiring architecture and people going by their daily routines. Another big part of local culture I like to immerse myself in is food and drink. I'll try any new cuisine and will not shy away from most things. Beverages of course are also important; I'm a big craft beer enthusiast and I also try to enjoy local (craft) beer wherever possible. Also coffee, tea and wine are well beloved by me.

I also love cooking, so whoever hosts me or is hosted by me will have the chance to try something I prepare (if desired!). I'm also happy to share my own home brewed beer with anyone keen on trying some very local craft beer! I'm also knowledgeable on coffee and tea, and can brew up some nice aeropress coffee in a jiffy.
