About Me

Born and raised in England but never wanting to stay still, I crossed the Venezuelan border into Brazil in 2009 and never looked back. After a year living in Rio I decided to be a mercenary in the Saudi Arabian desert. A year later I was back in cidade maravilhosa, and I'm here to stay. Vocês sejam bem-vindos no meu sofá, it's ready to be surfed!

"Morre lentamente quem não viaja, quem não lê, quem não ouve música, quem não encontra graça em si mesmo."

15 to 22 November: Colombia! Bogotá and Medellín
I cannot wait, muy ansioso!

When I can't host:

- 09 to 29 December (family staying)
- New Year (friends staying)
- Rio Carnival (friends staying)
- Olympics Rio 2016 (friends staying)

I can always hang out though, drop me a message

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found out about Couch Surfing whilst travelling in South America. I've hosted a few people and it's been great, I intend to do some couchsurfing myself in the future.

I'm looking to meet likeminded people, not to save money.

Being out of my comfort zone, meeting new people and seeing new places, being obsessive about sport and music. Pretending to be a Carioca. Trying not to get sun burnt (getting sun burnt). Swimming. Eating. Reading. Cooking. The occasional drink. Having a lack of routine

Music, Movies, and Books

Jimi Hendrix, Novos Baianos, Tim Maia, Seu Jorge, Gil Scott Heron, RATM, Sublime, Jorge Ben Jor, Bill Evans, Ray Charles, Biggie, The Smiths, Nas, Arctic Monkeys, The Stone Roses, Kenton Slash Demon, Tale of Us, The Roots, Dixon, Daft Punk, Curtis Mayfield, Rolling Stones, the list goes on...

Papillon, The Old Man and the Sea, A Alma Encantadora das Ruas

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Struggling to fill out this box without writing a cliché... Some of my most memorable travel experiences have been - sunrise at Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia '08. 5 day jungle trek in Borneo '03. The first time I went to Jericoacoara, Ceará, Brazil '04

Teach, Learn, Share

Eu era um professor de inglês, então posso te ensinar, se você quiser. Eu também gostaria de melhorar meu espanhol!
