About Me

Hey there:)
My name is Benedikt and I am studying philosophy and economics in Bayreuth right now, a town not far from Nürnberg. I like the idea of visiting other countrys, meeting the locals and having a good time together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the idea of visiting other countrys, meeting the locals and having a good time together. My friends and me are very tolerant and communicative dudes. This might be the reasons why we are having pretty much fun every time that folks from abroad visit us.

Interests

I love sports. I have been playing football since the age of three or something and I still love it. Also I go swimming like twice a week. I really like to meet friends, mostly fellow students and sportmates, and to spent free time together.
As I will describe later, I like doing doing useful things and to spent time on social commitment.

Music, Movies, and Books

German Hip Hop and Punk, whatever country it comes from, are my absolute favourite music genres. Of course, as everyone, I also like listening to pop music.
My favourite film is "Dead poets society" starring Robin Williams. I like the idea of making one´s life extraordinary.
My favourite authors are Heinrich Böll and Christian Kracht. They are both german so not that famous abroad. But I also like Lee Child´s Jack Reacher novels pretty much.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was crossing the alps by bicycle four times. At the very first I was 13 years old. We started at Munich and finished at the adriatic sea in Italy.

Teach, Learn, Share

Apart from my philosophy and economics studies I give german lessons to refugee kids or children with an imigrant background every Wednesday morning.
Inspired by a longer visit in Taizé (If you don´t know it, go there. It´s worth it.) I am writing a novel about a young idealist right now.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my flat with my couchsurfing mates of course. Also my guests can experience the town with my friends. Bayreuth has around 70 000 inhabitants but 13 000 students. From these figures one can easily guess that every day there are occasions to have lots of fun. My flat is right in between university and city centre. We won´t have to walk too much I assume.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Wales
