About Me

Hi, I’m Benedikt from western Germany. I currently live in Berlin and work as a mountain guide and tour guide all over the world. Being outdoors, moving through landscapes, and traveling are central parts of my life.

Through my work and personal travels, I have spent a lot of time in different countries and cultures. I enjoy meeting people with curiosity and respect and learning from how differently life can be lived around the world. For me, travel is a way to slow down, gain perspective, and stay open minded.

I value honesty, reliability, calm conversations, and a respectful way of interacting with others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some of my best travel experiences came from connecting with locals rather than staying in hotels. I spent a year living with a host family in the United States during high school, which showed me how meaningful everyday connections across cultures can be.

Couchsurfing, for me, is about meeting people, sharing perspectives, and experiencing places in a more human way. It is not just about finding a place to sleep, but about genuine exchange.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy music in many different forms, depending on the place, the moment, and the people around me. Music, for me, is often connected to memories and encounters rather than specific genres.

I am drawn to films and documentaries that focus on real people, cultures, and everyday life in different parts of the world. Stories that show how people think, live, and interact interest me much more than pure fiction.

I am not someone who learns mainly through books. I learn most through conversations, listening, and spending time with people from different backgrounds. Direct exchange, shared experiences, and honest communication are where I grow and gain new perspectives.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to experience many meaningful moments through traveling and meeting people. There isn’t one single thing I would pick or list here, because what stayed with me most were not highlights, but the countless small encounters, conversations, and shared moments along the way.

These experiences shaped who I am today and taught me to appreciate different perspectives, simple connections, and the value of being present. I feel grateful for what I’ve experienced so far and content with the path I’m on, without feeling the need to measure or collect achievements.

Teach, Learn, Share

Through my work as a mountain guide and tour guide, I have spent a lot of time hiking and moving through natural environments where attention, awareness, and clear decisions matter. Over time, this has shaped how I approach challenging situations, stay focused, and remain calm when things become uncertain.

I enjoy sharing experiences and perspectives that come from being close to nature and working in environments where presence and trust are essential. At the same time, I am genuinely curious about how others see the world and always enjoy learning through conversation and exchange.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am respectful, reliable, and easy to host. I communicate clearly, stick to plans, and respect personal space and routines.

I enjoy good conversations, shared meals, and simple everyday moments. I like cooking and am happy to share food when it fits. I always try to show appreciation for hospitality in thoughtful and sincere ways.
