ABOUT ME

My name is Benjamin and I'm 20 years old. I live in Pöcking, in a suburb of Munich, the capital of Bavaria. I have two sibling: one brother, who is 2 years older than me and a sister, who is my twin. I was born in Munich in 1992 and so I'm a big fan of Bayern Munich. I went to primary school in the village I still live (Pöcking) and after to the secondary school in Starnberg. My intensive courses were Latin and History/Social Studies. Since last winter semester I study Near and Mittle Eastern Studies in Munich.

PHILOSOPHY

One important aspect in my life is not to distinguish between people. They are equal and it doesn't matter from which part of the earth they come from or which religion they belong to. Far from it, I'm very interested which cultures and different ways of life there are on earth. So I treat every human without prejudice and polite. I think it's important to get a view of other cultures and to respect them at least.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don't have experiences with CouchSurfing so far but a friend told me that she has got and so I got interested in this project and here I am :)

Interests

There are many things I'm interested in. I like sports like football or handball most. Earlier I played golf but I haven't played it for 2 years or more. I'm also interested in different cultures and languagues. At the moment I'm studying Arabic and Turkish and I hope that from the wintersemester I'll study Hebrew and Persian as well. You see the Near and Mittle Eastern region attracts me :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the Harry Potter novels most because the author tells seven wonderful stories about magic, wishes and feares and friendship. Concerning music i like quite every kind of music except metal and hard rock. The kind isn't essential, but if i like the song or don't. Movies... I don't know but I love it to go into the cinema with friends watching a good movie and having a cold coke and popcorn to enjoy the movie.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A very important event in my life is the Arabic Spring. Before this having happenend I went to the secondary school and after it I wanted to study Latin. But then there was the AS and it interested me really and so I decided to study Near and Mittle Eastern Studies and not Latin , although I was a very good pupil there. You see, that I study this topic happened just by chance. But since then I'm very interested, bought me now books about the Islam and in September I will attend a Arabic course in Rabat (Marokko) for three weeks.
