About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world - Meet great people - Seize every opportunity - Live life to the fullest - some Work - and a lot of Thinking!

PHILOSOPHY

In today's world, everyone is a philosopher. How can one not be, with an intake of information greater than any previous generation? We are bombarded with words and ideas, pictures and concepts. This data has rarely been publicly questioned in centuries past yet today the media compels everyone to ask the question: why? And I am no different..

but then...

Why do humans act the way they do? It seems a simple question, but you're as likely to know the answer as you are to learn of the meaning of life.

in conclusion: I may have my own personal philosophy, but recently a lot of my core values have changed. First now I have decided to find out what I really want in this life (yes at my 36th winter), cause I am at the point that I really won't live as I have until now. (until now, I have tried to be "nice" with everyone surrounding me, helping, working, and dreaming about becoming professional and successful, but never put time to myself, to really do it!. So what have I achieved?... nothing really!

So in fear of "starting" my own business and working even more for lots of years to come without time to pursue any dream, Im taking my personal "gap year" to just wander & wonder!.. and at the end of the first year, I hope to have found enough information, lived life a bit more, and thought about what I will do in the future.. for so dedicate myself to reach that goal!

So.. hey.. you still reading? wow!.. thanks for that! (send me a message! lets share our stories)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to offer a couch, but my living situation right now doesn't allow for it. I do plan on travel from September/October this year (2015) for a year, and will figure out what Im going to do with the rest of my life (and maybe even... with whom!).. if keep traveling for some more years, or settle down in a different country of my actual one. Starting my photography business (both a portrait studio, and holding workshops/courses around the world), become a music (guitar) teacher and/or all of them, or none! will see.

Yes, in the future, when (if) I settle down, and get somewhere of my own to live, I will always have a couch to share!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none yet!... but I really hope that changes from October/November this year and at least for a year!, as even hosteling is getting out of my budget, but would do if none couchsurfers stand in my way (hopefully they will!) :D

Interests

-Portrait Photography (fashion/commercial.. but also landscapes and product/macro/astro/etc..)

-Guitar (I´ve been playing guitar since I was 11, now Im re-educating myself in lead guitar & acoustic fingerpicking style)

-Coaching/Speaking (in front of a (soon to be) professional or at least a very dedicated audience with a really desire to learn!), specially in photography and to start a business.

-Traveling! Of course!!.. and why I leave it to the last thing?, cause I have only been 4 days to Amsterdam as a vacation in my entire life (in 36 years!), so I´ve no experience, but soon to become a master of travelling with help from couchsurfers like you! ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

This can be even harder than writing my "personal philosophy!"..

Music:
I do listen to a lot of genres, from classical, to prog-rock, and all in between, jazz, pop, instrumental, soundtracks, etc...

Though I can say that I was 13 when I started my first band and played covers of Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, OffSpring, Stone Temple Pilots and Ocean Colour Scene, among others.

Today Im playing more of: Satriani, Vai, Petrucci, McAlpine, Schon, Zaza, Martone, and lots more lead guitarists.. and then Don Ross, Andy McKee, Antoine Dufour, Franco Morone, Mike Dawes, Martin Tallström, Tommy Emmanuel, and lots of others Acoustic Fingerpickers! ;) though my level isn't quite up there yet... not by a looong shot! but someday! ;)

Movies: I like many genres, but maybe Mystery Thrillers (The Game, Triangle, Shutter Island), some sci-fi mystery (The Forgotten), adventure sic-fi (The Island), Crime Drama (Blow), Drama (Fight Club), and really a long etc!... I even like "The Wizard of Oz" from 1939! ;)

Books: The only books I´ve read are for learning purposes (guitar books, photography/lighting books, and school books!).. I really don't find the peace and interest to read some fiction.. don't know why, I do enjoy more a movie I guess.. but I really don't know, cause I´ve never read a book?

Now that I remember my parents got me a "Choose your Own Adventure" book: The Adventures of Jonah (reissued as Spy Trap), where you got to choose what was going to happen by choosing one of the 2-3 choices, that redirected you to a concrete page. Interesting concept.. as I read the book 3-4 times, and got different things happen, and endings!

Then in my 14-15? birthday, I received from a friend of my father the book: La Casa Verde / The Green House (of Mario Vargas Llosa), but.. I found the first 3-4 pages very uninspiring and of difficult reading!... don't know if its actually a hard to read book, or if I was to young, or just had my mind on music by the time.

So... thats that! ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Thinking of getting a Sailboat and sail my way around the world! YEAH!!.. and offer my "sailboat couch!" to anyone that would contribute to fun and great days!

But still unsure if economy permits the dream at this very moment... so well only other thing I can recall doing is.. visiting Amsterdam 4 days, love the city, the culture, the boathouses, the canals, etc...

oh... and the first time I moved from south Spain, to Mid-Norway in 1998-99 did it on a road trip!.. 3 days in a car, and a ferry from Denmark to Norway

My Bucket List:

- Buy a Sailboat and sail around the world! (one day!)

but on a backpacker trip (on land)
- Iquitos, stay at an Ayahuasca lodge for all between a couple of weeks to 2-3 months. (while in Perú, visit Machu-Pichu)
- México, visit an online friend and fellow photographer in Guadalajara.
- California, take a trip to Las Vegas maybe?.. and if possible drive the pacific coast to...
- Seattle! be in a "Creative Live" 3 days course in photography.
(maybe some detours in the way.. as there are places in the states I would like to visit.. but maybe I will let them to another trip another time)
- Vancouver (maybe)
- Hawaii.. Aloha!
- Tokyo (climb/trek mount fuji at night to see the sunrise from the top)
- China (the great wall of china)
- Tibet (Mount Everest)
- India (thinking of taking a 3 months Yoga Teacher Course)
- Tanzania, Africa (Serengeti or Kruger National Parks, still have to do some research on which... and will trek the Kilimanjaro!)
- Egypt and their pyramids would be nice, though it seems the political issues is making it dangerous right now. (will see next year).
- Morocco (camel trek in the dessert)
- Paris (Eiffel, some museums, and a croissant for breakfast, would love to attend some tennis semifinal and/or final at Roland Garros (French Open), but that won't fit in the dates I would be there august/september, so would have to come back in may-june some year.)
- Amsterdam
- Belgium (visit family)
- UK
- back home (Norway)

While on these places, some mountain trekking, camel trekking in the dessert as I wrote, but also want to do:

-Bungee jump from: Macau Tower AJ Hackett in China (the highest bungee jump in the world), and would be my first jump!! :P but will see, maybe I do something less high for the first time? :P ,but at least 1 bungee jump somewhere in the world.

-if still want some heights, maybe a paragliding course, or a parachute jump?

will add some more later here, or put a link to somewhere! ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I will couchsurf with you for free (of course), for laughs (I hope), for cooking sometimes (Im good in the kitchen), for eating traditional cuisine (yeah, I would also like "you" to make me something traditional at least once!).. to hike around (urban/countryside) and many other things!

And if you are interested I can teach/share/enjoy the following too:

- Photography and Retouching! (basics or advanced, PS & LR)
- Videography (music videos, short/long movies, color grading, editing)
- Guitar! (basics or rhythm guitar or advanced lead guitar techniques)
- Piano, Quena flute, Bass, Drums? etc.. I play a little all of them
- 3D modeling (3dsmax/maya/other? - basic polygonal modelling)
- Recording/mixing (music recording on a computer)
- WebDesign & Blogging "for money or fun" (Photoshop and Wordpress)
- Fitness (bodybuilding, weight loss, etc..)
- Nutrition (weight loss, muscle toning, muscle building)
- Spanish! (from words to sentences, to proper grammar)
- Norwegian! (same as with spanish)
- Poker! (rules, and how to win lots of money in online poker!) ;)
- Entrepreneurship (starting/growing a business, marketing, social media, etc..) Of course those in photography, music, webdesign, and other fields I know will be easier, but a business is a business after all, and 80% of the core of any business is practically the same!.

- Cooking! (worked as a cock for a year or so), not that I can teach you a lot, but at least I can make dinner sometimes! :)

In exchange, I will love to learn/share/enjoy anything you have to offer, as long as it is "allowed".. :P even just your couch!, or if possible your laughs!, your culture, any skills you got (and yes, if you play an instrument, shoot photography, or other things I do, I would love to learn from you too!), just your companionship can be enough!, etc..

btw.. Im a good listener!, so if you want to just talk and talk and talk, I can listen and listen and listen! ;)
