Hola from Madrid! 🇪🇸

My name is Ben, and I am an Economics student from England who is currently on a study year abroad here in Madrid! I am an open-minded person who loves to travel, meet new people and learn about different perspectives. 🙂 I consider myself a positive and respectful person with a positive outlook on life, I strive to give others some of this positivity but also receive good advice from others too!

I have a passion for sports and an outdoor activities 🏄🏽‍♂️🌅, and also love beautiful architecture, beaches and landscapes. I also really enjoy trying to understand people, and how and why we all do things the way we do them!

Last year I was lucky enough to travel around all of Portugal with my girlfriend who was studying there, now this year I am in Madrid and plan to travel all around Spain and also the countries near by!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have joined Couchsurfing because I am someone who loves to travel, meet people, and learn about new cultures and perspectives!

I have used Couchsurfing once before with my girlfriend in Marrakesh, Morocco (using her account) and we stayed for 6 nights. We had a great time and had a great host.

This year I am studying abroad in Spain, some of my motivations to do this come from wanting to have a broader perspective on the world we live in, I want to learn another language, and I want to make connections with people around the world. This is one reason why I have joined Couchsurfing because I want to make the most of my time in Spain by travelling all of Spain and reaching my goals of my study abroad!

Interests

My main interest in life are travelling, meeting new people, playing sports (specifically football, surfing, and golf), and going to the beach.

I also love anything that satisfies the eye, be it architecture, beautiful landscapes, or photography.

Lastly, I enjoy hearing and learning about psychology. I find it very interesting to observe how people interact and I love trying to understand why we are the way we are as people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music most notably HipHop, Jazz, and Reggae. My favourite films are Psychological thrillers, Classic films, and I also have a soft spot for romantic films. When reading I prefer non-fiction books which are based around becoming a better person and personal development:)

I am currently lucky enough to be taking lessons to fly a helicopter!!! (See my profile pictures)

I love to help people when I can, if you want recommendations of things to do in Madrid, Lisbon, or England then I am more than happy to give you them! I am also very open to helping people with their English language if they desire:)

Personally, some of my current goals are to learn Spanish, become a good surfer, and to learn more about different cultures around the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can give you recommendations of things to do in all of the places I have been to especially Madrid, Lisbon, and England! I love to have good conversations about life and share my perspectives as well as listen to others, I hope I will be able to provide my hosts with a positive perspective!

Also, although not for everyone, I have in the past given help to some of my friends abroad with English language, I am happy to help!
