Hello, I'm Ben! I *was* an English teacher in Kitami, Japan. I'm originally from the US. I'll be working until August 2018, then road-tripping through Japan for 3 months to visit as many places as I can. I want to see a lot of historical sites, and I also want to climb many of the "100 famous mountains" in Japan (百名山). I love active things like hiking, and also love to exchange stories and experiences about almost anything. Looking forward to meeting hosts and travelers alike!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Part of the reason I'm teaching English in Japan is so that I can travel around Asia...It's my first time in this part of the world and I want to explore the many different cultures, foods, ideas, and ways of life that it has to offer, and make some friends in the process :) Not many people come up to where I live in Hokkaido, but I'd like to host anyone I can in order to pay it forward -- I'll be traveling and looking for hosts starting in August!

Intereses

I have a broad range of interests and I like to hear other perspectives, world views, thoughts and opinions. Also, I'm still a child at heart and love to play outside! Hiking, cycling, sports, or anything else active.

I can teach English of course! I've been teaching children in Japan for the past 3 years, and I speak a fair amount of Japanese as well.
